Our Dogs

The original 3 Dogs of the Cafe when we opened in 2017 were Agrippa, Germanicus & Gaius! — All Labs! One of each color!

In August of 2009 we added another black lab to the bunch, Drusus!  Shortly after, Agrippa passed away after 15½ years of leading a full and exciting life.

In 2012 we adopted Bacon, a chocolate lab.  We have given him a very good new life and home.  He will often be seen outside howling!

In 2016 we got another puppy! A yellow lab named Tiberius! Sadly, shortly after that we had to say goodbye to Gaius. He lived a wonder life of almost 15 years.

We are back to 5 labs with the addition of Postumus, a chocolate lab.

So currently we are 3 Dogs Cafe with 5 dogs! Germanicus (older yellow lab), Drusus (black lab), Bacon (chocolate lab), Tiberius (younger yellow lab), and Postumus (chocolate lab)!

The following excerpts come from the December 1997 Down East Magazine article which captures the essence of Sweet Sensations most accurately:

“Since pastry chef Steven Watts set up his delectable shop on Route 1 (in Rockport) last November (1997), he has been selling the coconutty confections by the dozen, and people have been known to travel considerable distances to sample what many consider to be Maine’s best Macaroon.”

“These are macaroons you drive through a snowstorm to buy”
~ a loyal customer

“Rob and I have been meaning to thank you for your fabulous cake you made for our wedding… Not only was it yummy and enjoyed by all, it was gorgeous to look at! We also greatly enjoyed all the deserts at our rehearsal dinner.”
